The heavy snowfall brought significant amounts of snow to parts of western Canada over the weekend. Edmonton was pummelled with 19 centimeters of snow on Friday and Saturday, while some areas received up to 35 centimeters.
Temperatures Unlikely to Exceed -20C
The temperature is likely to struggle to rise above -20C in parts of Saskatoon, which is more than 15C (59F) below the average for this time of year. The cold air is forecast to push southwards into the US towards the weekend and into next week.

Residents in Edmonton, Alberta, enjoyed a day of snowfall on Saturday, with some areas receiving up to 15-25 centimeters of snow. Edmonton was pummelled with 19 centimeters on Friday and Saturday. Nine centimeters fell at the airport, south of the city, during that time.

Environment Canada has not issued any weather alerts for Alberta Sunday. There is a 60 per cent chance of flurries in the forecast for Edmonton during the day, but that drops to a 30 per cent change Sunday night.
