German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, attending his first major summit as German chancellor, emphasized the importance of unity among European nations in the face of Russia’s ongoing war of aggression. ‘We have to undertake all efforts we can to keep the Americans on our side,’ he said, highlighting the need for coordinated action with the US and other key partners.
