Comedian Frank Skinner has finally found love on his fourth try, tying the knot with long-time girlfriend Cath Mason in a humble and unconventional union.
After four rejections, comedian and presenter Frank Skinner has finally tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Cath Mason. The 68-year-old shared the news on his podcast, ‘Frank Off The Radio’ , alongside co-hosts Emily Dean and Pierre Novellie.
Frank Skinner is a renowned British comedian, television presenter, and radio host.
Born on December 2, 1957, in Northamptonshire, England, he rose to fame with his witty observations and humorous storytelling.
Skinner's career spans over three decades, with notable appearances on TV shows such as 'Room 101' and 'Fantasy Football League.' He has also co-hosted several radio programs, including the popular 'Kermode and Mayo's Film Review' podcast.
Skinner revealed that he had proposed to Mason not once, not twice, but four times previously, only to be met with rejection each time. He attributed her initial hesitation to a ‘terrible personal reason’ and Mason’s past experience of witnessing her parents’ divorce. However, Skinner reassured that there was no ill will involved, stating that Mason had always made it clear she didn’t want a traditional wedding.
A Non-Traditional Union

The couple’s wedding was anything but conventional. Mason requested no guests, no church, and no ring. Instead, she opted for a simple yet elegant flowery dress, and the ceremony took place at Camden Town Hall, with their son Buzz serving as the sole witness. The musical choice for the aisle walk was also unusual – Skinner has always been a fan of Manchester post-punk group ‘The Fall’ , which holds a special place in his heart.
A Fresh Start
When asked about the timing of the marriage, Skinner attributed it to a desire to secure Mason’s financial future. However, he quickly dismissed this notion, insisting it was not a ‘tax thing’ and that he had no intention of passing away soon. The couple seems content with their decision, embracing the unconventional nature of their union.
Skinner’s career has been marked by his versatility in the entertainment industry, from writing lyrics for football song ‘Three Lions’ to hosting various radio shows and TV programs. Despite this, it appears that Mason was the one who held the key to finally securing his heart – and hand. As Skinner so candidly put it, ‘It’s a bit basic getting married,’ but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
